Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy

We are serious about the safety and security of your personal information. References to notarytraining.ca in these terms and conditions and privacy policy refer to Notary Assist Inc., a corporation incorporated in Ontario.

 

We have written this Privacy Policy/Terms of Service to set out how we intend to store and keep your information confidential and secure as well as other terms governing the provision of our services.

Signing up to the website notartraining.ca and providing contact information permits Notary Assist Inc. the right to contact you on a periodic basis about your course, or other offers which might be of interest to you. You have the absolute right to decline to receive promotional emails, and a simple response to remove yourself from the list is all that is required.

 

The use of notarytraining.ca are governed by this Privacy Policy/Terms of Service. 

  

Your Privacy Rights

All businesses engaged in commercial activities must comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, and the Canadian Standards Association Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information. Notarytraining.ca complies with these legal obligations.

 

What personal information will you collect?

The only information we will actively collect is your name, your email, your phone number, that is it, and only when you sign up for an account. Otherwise, we do not collect any additional information. This information cannot be deleted, as we need to keep proper records for Law Society of Ontario audits.

We will not sell your information to any third-party marketing services. 

 

Disclosure of your Personal Information

Notarytraining.ca will disclose your personal information, and your completion of the course in the following circumstances:

 

1. If required to do so by law (e.g. a warrant/subpoena).

2. When you have consented to the disclosure (you must request this in person).

3. If contacted by the Law Society of Ontario requesting confirmation of attendance/completion of the Notary Training Course.

 

It is your responsibility to update us with regards to your current contact information. 

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Notarytraining.ca may change this privacy policy without notice. Your transaction will be subject to the privacy policy in effect at the time your documents were notarized, unless such changes have been made redundant or illegal by law or court order.

 

Requests for Access

After you have left completed your course, you must download the certificate and keep it for your records. We may or may not be able to retrieve your certificate if enough time has passed since you completed the course.

 

Web Site

Our website contains links to other websites, which are not governed by this privacy policy.

While visiting notarytraining.ca, we monitor traffic patterns, site usage and related site information to optimize our web site. We may provide aggregated generic information to third parties that does not include any personally identifiable information.

 

Liability

Notary Assist Inc. makes all reasonable efforts to ensure the data contained within the course is up to date and will periodically change to course to ensure the best information is put forward. However, we cannot guarantee that case law analysis and/or current trends in the notary field will be updated within the course immediately as they happen. protect your data. The course is based on personal experience of a licensed notary public and is a mix of case law analysis and practical advice.

 

In the extremely unlikely event that a lawsuit has been launched against Notary Assist Inc., you agree that Notary Assist Inc. shall only be liable to the extent of the cost of our service provided to you.

 

Refunds

Refunds will only be processed in the first 24 hours after course purchase, and only if less than 10% of the course was completed. No other refunds will be issued except in very exceptional circumstances and at the complete discretion of Notary Assist Inc.

Legal Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy/Terms of Services shall be governed by the laws of province of Ontario and/or Canada as applicable.

 

Limitation Period

Notary Assist Inc. and all parties using its services agree that any and all lawsuits alleging wrongdoing on behalf of Notary Assist Inc. shall be issued and served within six months year after the wrongdoing or loss is discovered or may be reasonably assumed to be discoverable.

 

Severability

If any section of this Agreement is held by a court to be invalid, void, or unenforceable, such sections shall be reduced in scope only to the extent necessary. All other sections of this Privacy Policy/Terms of Service shall survive.

Law Society of Ontario

The course provided by Notarytraining.ca and Notary Assist Inc. is in no way related to, endorsed by, or provided by the Law Society of Ontario. This course and Notary Assist Inc. are provided to the public by Notary Assist Inc. and has not been approved, provided by, or endorsed by the Ministry of the Attorney General. 

The full course qualifies for 4 hours of substantive continuing professional development credits. The practical only course qualifies for 2 hours of substantive continuing professional development credits.

The legalization and authentication course qualifies for 30 minutes of substantive continuing professional development credits.
