How to become a Notary?

Interested in registering as a Notary Public in Canada?

Each province and territory has different regulations no who can be a notary public. Some provinces require you to be a lawyer/paralegal before you can become a notary public. Some provinces permit anyone over the age of 18 to become a notary.

British Columbia requires lawyers to undertake additional formal education at a University. Similarly, Quebec has additional educational requirements before a lawyer can be appointed as a notary. We have compiled a description of how to register as a notary in each province to help you on your professional journey.

We have tailored courses for each province and territory in Canada (except for Quebec and British Columbia who have their own training programs). Please let us know if you have any questions on how to register as a notary in Canada!
